Filing a Fictitious Business Name

 

The Palisadian-Post is an adjudicated newspaper for the county of Los Angeles and we will be happy to assist you with the filing and publication requirements for a Fictitious Business Name Statement (also called a DBA). The charges for filing and publication of your DBA are:
L.A. County Clerk's filing fee $23.00
Fee includes one business name & up to two registrants (signers)
For each additional business name or each additional registrants add $ 4.00
The Palisadian-Post publication fee $60.00

TO FILE AND PUBLISH YOUR FICTITIOUS BUSINESS NAME STATEMENT:

Print out application and complete it in black ink or typed
Do not use any post office boxes
Sign application
Prepare two checks:

1 - L.A. County Clerk see above (Money order, certified or company checks
only. No personal checks.)
2 - Palisadian-Post $60.00

Mail complete application and both checks to:

Attn: DBA
839 Via de la Paz
P.O. Box 725
Pacific Palisades, CA 90272

You will receive a certified copy from the County Clerk in approximately two weeks. We will then publish the notice for four consecutive weeks and file a proof of publication, as required by law. The entire process takes 5-6 weeks. Your recorded document will be mailed to you and will remain on file with the L.A. County Clerk for five years.
